Ken Wu
Environmental activist; Campaign Director, Wilderness Committee, Victoria, B.C.
Mr. Wu is a prominent environmental activist in British Columbia. Over the years he has been heavily involved in campaigns to protect old-growth forests and wilderness areas in such places as Clayoquot Sound, the Walbran Valley, Elaho Valley, South Okaganan Valley, and Whaleback Mountains. He also works to stop oil exploration and drilling off B.C.'s coast.
He graduated from the University of British Columbia's (UBC) ecological science program and has worked as a biologist, tree planter, math tutor, and environmental campaigner. He has served as the President of the UBC Student Environment Center, as the Vancouver Coordinator for the Forest Action Network and for over a decade, has worked in the capacities of Executive Director, Canvassing Director, and Campaign Director for the Wilderness Committee in Victoria, where he currently works.
